Dr. Clotilde Monguya is a physician and public health strategist specializing in the integration of healthcare systems, environmental sustainability, and community resilience. Her work lies at the intersection of medicine and sustainable development awareness, with the goal of transforming complex health and environmental challenges into practical, community-centered solutions.
She holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD), a Master of Public Health (MPH), and is a board-certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist (OBGYN) as well as a Sustainable Community Development Consultant.
As Health, Environment and Community Awareness Manager at the Cero Basura Panama Foundation, Dr. Monguya leads programs that establish a direct connection between environmental conditions and public health outcomes. Her work focuses on making environmental risks—such as pollution, inadequate waste management, and public health threats—more visible and understandable, enabling communities and stakeholders to take informed and effective action.
Her leadership approach is grounded in a systems-thinking perspective that recognizes the interdependence of environmental integrity, human health, and social development. Through this vision, she promotes initiatives that strengthen community resilience while encouraging sustainable and health-promoting behaviors.
